The Arboretum of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts is located in the settlement of Trsteno which is located along the Adriatic Highway (D8) about twenty kilometres north-west of Dubrovnik. Trsteno is located in Southern Croatia, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and administratively belongs to the City of Dubrovnik.
The arboretum covers an area of 25.61 ha. It stretches for 1 km in the east-west direction, between the sea and the Adriatic Highway, on the slope of the southern exposure, in the range of altitudes from 0 to 80 m.
