The activities of the Arboretum are focused on the protection and maintenance of cultural, historical and natural values, research and protection of biological diversity, the creation of a living collection of genetic diversity and research in the field of history of garden architecture and land estate culture.
Activities in the Arboretum on a surface 25.61 ha are carried out in five different spatial and landscape units: the Renaissance-Baroque garden and summer villa (18,582 m2), the 19th century romantic garden on Drvarica (21,908 m2), the contact zone of the Renaissance-Baroque garden (35,142 m2), the historic olive grove (15,370 m2 renovated part + 42,287 m2 planned for renovation) and landscape areas of natural vegetation (106,442 m2). Cuts and fire roads occupy 13,822 m2, and other roads 2,546 m2.
